Details were announced yesterday of Cycling Leinster’s training day for youth cyclists, taking place on Sunday 25th January. Today we have details of similar programmes taking place in Munster and Connacht. On the weekend of 24th to 25th January training days will be taking place throughout the country, all catering for both girls and boys. You can find full details of the camps and the age groups they cater for below. Orla Hendron has also informed us that details will soon be announced for another girls’ training camp to take place over the half term weekend. You can read about last year’s camp here.
Cycling Leinster is running a youth cycling training day for cyclists on Sunday, January 25. The training/coaching/info day for riders U14 U16 and Juniors from Leinster clubs will take place in Bray Wheelers clubhouse with mentored spins leaving at 10.30am sharp.
This will be followed by a talks session including coaching tips and an outline of plans for 2015 road season. Riders are asked to bring a packed lunch for after the spins and dry clothes etc for afterwards. A roadworthy drop bar bike and a helmet are essential!

Connacht Junior & Youth Training Camp
The first Connacht Junior & Youth Cycling training day of 2015 is taking place in Westport next Saturday 24th of January. The training day will be lead by former world junior champion and Tour de France rider, Mark Scanlon. The day will consist of training spins to suit all levels from beginner Under 12s to experienced junior riders. The camp is open to boys and girls. After lunch there will be a series of talks on training and nutrition.

Cycling Munster presents the “Munster Youth Academy Training Camp”
The Munster Youth Academy will be holding the next training camp on Sunday 25thJan. The academy will be open to all Munster riders age groups 12, 14, 16 along with Junior & U23riders. The last camp in December was very successful with over 100 riders attending. We would like to welcome back all the riders that attended the last camp in December & welcome any riders that were unable to attend.
These camps are part of the program for riders looking to get selected for Provincial squads & also riders looking to get selected for Irish squads in 2015. The day will involve a ride in the morning followed by a talk from Mr. Dan Curtin to outline the plans for underage, Junior & U23 riders in 2015.
