Agnieszka Woźniak won the final Round of the Women’s Intermediate League in Cork on Sunday (June 23rd).
The De Ronde Classic attracted a quality field for an event that was held in terrible weather conditions, with heavy rain and a strong wind battering the riders from the start line.
Agnieszka went clear early on the first lap, with Leah Desmond (Bandon CC) and overall Intermediate League leader Lucy O’Donnell (O’Leary Stone Kanturk).
Woźniak took the win, from O’Donnell, with Lucy showing her strength by extending her lead at the top to win the second ever Intermediate League.
The fragmented chase behind saw the host clubs Nessa Rochford (De Ronde) finish in front of the in-form Nikki Taggart (Arcane Women’s Team). Up and coming star Faith Hilliard (TC Racing) took the final prize on the day.
Elia Tutty (TC Racing) missed the break, but the former League Leader improved her position on the day, jumping to 2nd prize overall.
