February 2nd & 3rd 2013 – Ballinastoe Trails, Co. Wicklow (Jon Hynes)

Announcing the first of our initiatives to increase womens participation in the sport of Cross Country Mountain Biking. Over the years we have been very fortunate here in Ireland to produce some incredibly talented female riders whom have gone on to represent us at International & Olympic standard

This Olympic sport, is a thrilling form of Mountain Biking, combining technical bike handling skills, tactic’s, endurance and lots of adrenalin. With so many women now participating in road cycling, we want to encourage with any interest at all to come along to a welcoming, fun environment whereby they can gain top class tuition from experienced racers and coaches.

The first weekend is coming up on February 2nd & 3rd in Ballinastoe, Co. Wicklow and is being hosted by Cait Elliot, Jon Hynes and other coaches. The cost of the weekend is just €25 per person and includes all tuition and entry to the fun race, Biking Blitz Round 1 on the Sunday. Mountain Bikes are available for rent if needs be for a nominal extra charge.

The weekend is open to all levels of riders, so if you are totally new to XC, then come along or indeed if you have already raced a little, then come along and we’ll hopefully help you improve your skills to the next level. Road riders are encouraged to try this, Mountain Biking is a great way of developing your bike handling skills as well as being fantastic fun.
