Calling all female road cyclists who want to try out mountain biking:
Mel Spath, ex national road and MTB champ is leading an introductory MTB spin specifically aimed at female road cyclists. If you have done some road cycling before and always wanted to try out mountain biking, this is the perfect opportunity. This spin will take place in Ballinastoe, in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains, in one of Ireland’s most popular trail centres. The Ballinastoe trails are purpose built single track sections linked together by fire road. The trails are aimed at beginner mountain bikers, but require some fitness.
Meeting at 10:30am in Ballinastoe at Biking.ie hut with a short introduction to mountain biking. Leaving at 11:00am on the Ballinastoe trail network. The plan is to do 1-2 laps of the Ballinastoe trails. The trails are designed in a way that the spin can easily be lengthened or shortened.
You must have a valid Cycling Ireland licence and be at least 16 years old.
MTB rental is available at Ballinastoe: http://www.biking.ie/index.php/bike-rental/mountain-bike-rental (Call ahead to reserve)
