A Cycling Ireland Women’s Commission Development Team will line up at Manchester Velodrome for an International Omnium in the new year .
The event on January 7th will see the return of the ACT Track League , with guest riders from Ireland and all of the UK (Some top riders already confirmed) .
The Women’s racing on the night will follow an Omnium format , with overall prizes (Including one sponsored by the Women’s Commission).
The Women’s Commission have had a lot of applicants , and will be announcing our team on November 16th (* Preference given to W2 & W3 Category riders with Track Accreditation & Indoor experience , Rider Race Deposit Required to secure selection).
The Manchester Velodrome (National Cycling Centre) was Britain’s first indoor Olympic cycling track, and since it opened in 1994, has achieved the status as the World’s finest and fastest track.
The Women’s Commission will be travelling in January for sessions of private Track hire , culminating in an International Race Night .
Irish International Robyn Stewart joined us for this weekend in January this year , and was very generous with her help and advice .
The Team will race under the banner of the ‘Women’s Commission Of Cycling Ireland’ wearing our colours in the event.
Former Manchester Velodrome Manager Bob Barber will prepare & Coach our Irish Riders on Sunday night .
