We have moved the ‘Women’s Track Cycling Workshop’ to Sunday 29th May at the Sundrive Velodrome, due to a clash with the Women’s National League race in Emyvale.
Training at Sundrive velodrome is currently underway and with the weather improving, now is the time to come down and try it out!
Accreditation is the basic level of skill required to participate in training and is suitable for everyone. You don’t need to be very fit for accreditation jut have an interest in trying the track and learning how to ride a fixed wheel bike. There are two opportunities to get accredited in advance listed below
Training is every Saturday at 10 am and once the days get long enough also on Monday nights from 6.30 pm. The training is a brilliant way to hone your skills and learn about track racing and its suitable for all. A basic licence is needed to train.
Racing takes place every Wednesday night from the end of April onwards. There is a women specific category every night (subject to numbers but we’ve always had plenty!) or if you fancy you can compete against the men in the A, B or C mixed categories. A Limited Competition or Full Licence is required for racing.

*The Woman’s Track Cycling Workshop has been very successful in the last few years with over 20 riders participating. It’s suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced but all riders must have accreditation beforehand. It is an opportunity to try lots of different events on the track from bunch racing to individual time trials. The workshop cost is kept pretty low thanks to sponsorship from the Women’s Commission and a free lunch is included!
Track Bikes – No track bike? No worries! We have a full range of good quality Dolan track bikes available to rent for a nominal fee at the track! Some people go a full season riding the rental bikes and winning races!
Further info from trackcycling.ie or drop Susie Mitchell track rep a line at firstname.lastname@example.org. This Track Day is suitable for all levels of rider incl experienced trackies but we need minimum numbers to ensure it goes ahead.
