Where does the time go ?…. Round 6 already. Yes, with 5 races of this year’s Women’s National League under your belt, round 6, the Donamon Dynamos Grand Prix beckons on Sunday 12th June.

The final outcome of this year’s Joe Daly Cycles sponsored National League remains very much uncertain going into Round 6, with just a couple of good placings separating the riders at the top of the table.

This is the first season the Donamon Dynamos Grand Prix has been included in our Joe Daly Cycles sponsored National League. Indeed it is only the third running of an open race by the host club, and the first year they have included a women’s event on their program, so let’s all make the short trip to the scenic lake-lands of County Roscommon to support them!

Essential Details

Sign on location: PJ’s Bar and Lounge, Castlecoote, which is 9km West of Roscommon Town.

Sign on time: from 10m – 11:30am

Entry Fee: €20, this includes catered warm food served after racing ends.

Race time: First race is off at 12noon, the women’s NL race will be the fourth race to start

Race distance: 80km: this race is 5 laps of a 16km circuit

Refreshments: Showers (at Fuerty GAA clubhouse) and refreshments will be provided.

Circuit: The race circuit starts and finishes in the village of Castlecoote, adjacent to the sign on location. The circuit is fast rolly terrain on good roads. There is no significant climb, but there are two short sharp ramps, and the rest is sufficiently undulating to have the legs feeling it all after 5 laps.

Of note, the finishing straight is sightly downhill, to the line.
