One of the biggest ever women’s fields for a Duane Delaney memorial assembled at Sundrive Velodrome on Saturday (June 1st) for the traditional Track Season opener.
Eimer McMullan took the opening TT in wet conditions, with the defending champion Deirbhle Ivory in 2nd . McMullan posting a time that would have placed her in the top four of the Mens A event.
McMullen went on to win the Mile (Again from Ivory).
Both riders (McMullan & Ivory) faded in the Scratch race, but they returned to the top in the 500M TT in one of the few one day Track events that favours sprint riders.
1st Eimer McMullan – Sundrive Track Team
2nd Deirbhle Ivory – Team Torelli
3rd Caoimhe O’ Brien. – Lakeside Wheelers
All riders will now be focussed on the Women’s Olympic Omnium in two weeks, for the first chance to win a 2019 Irish National Medal
