The Women’s Commission is delighted to promote an end-of-year Cyclocross and MTB training camp for 12-18 year old girls on 17th and 18th December.
The camp will begin with sign-on from 10:00 to 10:45 on Saturday 17th December in Tollymore Forest Park near Newcastle, Co. Down. Coach Andy Layhe and National Cyclocross Champion Beth McCluskey will be on hand for a training session from 11:00 to 14:00, followed by lunch in Tollymore Adventure Centre. Afterwards, Beth, who has delivered many very well received presentations to Senior and Youth riders previously, will treat the girls to a Talk on Nutrition for Young Athletes.
Riders may then wish to stay on for Day 2, by booking accommodation and dinner at the Tollymore Adventure Centre. The second day will consist of Mountain Biking skills, and bikes will be available to hire.
Cost for Day 1 is €15 or £13 to include coaching, lunch and talk.
Optional Evening Meal is £9.60 and accommodation is £18.
Day 2 MTB Bike Hire is £20 which includes instruction, subject to a group of at least 6.
Riders may attend Day 1, Day 2, or both days, and all riders should have a Cycling Ireland licence. Further details are available from Youth Rep, Orla Hendron.
