Cyclocross training day for women

muckWith the upcoming cyclocross season about to start in September, a cyclocross skills day for women will be held on Sunday, September 20.

The venue, while it has to be confirmed, looks set to be just over the border in Northern Ireland in Rostrevor and will be from 11am until 2pm.

There are a unique set of skills required for cyclocross racing which will include dismounts, remounts, cornering and tackling barriers and all this will be part of the training.

This year’s training will be led by Lisa Millar and will be geared towards both the ‘novice/beginner’. However, those who have raced in the past and want to improve their skills will also be catered for.

The training is aimed at women who will be taking part in cyclocross races this year and the cost will be £5-£10 per person payable on the day to cover lunch and venue hire.

All riders must have a current Cycling Ireland licence

All riders to bring along their cyclocross bike

A helmet must be worn

A minimum of 10 people will be required for the session to go ahead.
