The Women’s Commission hosted a training day on Saturday 28th September.
We were delighted to have an opportunity to train on the new Cyclocross Skill Zone at the National Sports Campus with Coach Andy Lahye.
23 women and girls turned out on the day, to ride on the purpose built Cyclocross course.
Some riders got their first taste of Cyclocross , while others were brushing up on their skills.
The day started for everyone with essential skills, checking tyre pressure before being shown how to mount and dismount bikes CX style, how to properly carry their bikes while running up stairs and lots more.
The day then turned to more technical demonstrations, and by the end of the session all were capable of climbing and riding off-camber along the steep banks of the course.
We ended with tea and cake, a lot of laughter.
Thank you so much to Andy Lahye
