Cycling Ireland Awards Night: Vote early, vote often!

All dressed up to spin to Awards Night!

All dressed up to spin to Awards Night!

As the curtain falls on the 2015 cycling year we find ourselves once again in Awards Season. The growing number of people who have played a roll in improving the cycling scene for women in Ireland presents a list of names too numerous to mention, but each of whom can be assured of our appreciation.

We leave it to the governing body, Cycling Ireland, to run the official Awards Night, and to acknowledge those nominated by the cycling community. The Awards Night for 2015 will be on Saturday 21st November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry.

Of note: this event will also serve as awards night for this year’s Joe Daly Cycles Women’s National League. So, you riders who featured in the top six slots in the 2015 Joe Daly Cycles National League, be sure to be there on the night to collect your award!

Tickets for the Cycling Ireland Awards Night are €50 per person, and can be purchased via the CI website portal here. Ticket sales end on Wednesday 11th November, so be sure to purchase yours promptly!

When it comes to the award categories for which CI members can vote for a selection of nominated people and events, we wish every nominee well, but would encourage our readers to vote for the people who, and events that, had women’s cycling as their focus this year.

The full list of nominations in each category can be viewed here on the Cycling Ireland website. The closing date for voting is Tuesday 17th November, so cast your votes online before then, and remember you will need your CI licence number to do so.

It is wonderful to see a long-list of nine women, representing every conceivable cycling discipline, and every corner of the country, in the category for Best Domestic-Based Female Rider, they are all winners to us!

When voting in some of the other categories, consider these womens-cycling-supportive nominees 😉 :

See you – in your fave frock – in Santry!
