The Banteer Banter – Fiona Meade

Despite strong winds, the 7th Annual Mich Cahill memorial race in Banteer, North Cork was a well attended event Sunday last. The course consisted of a relatively flat nine mile loop, to be completed seven times By A and B riders and 5 times by C, Veteran, Junior and lady competitors. Emma of Dungarven cycling club and myself flew the flag for the ladies.

Report on Newbridge – from the winner’s point of view!

Leinster Team Announced for Gorey

  Following the first National League race in Broadford, the Leinster Team has been announced for the Gorey 3 Day on Easter Weekend. The selection for the Team was selected based on the results of the first race in the Zoo Salon and Velotex National League. While 1st place was won by Munster’s Fiona Meade, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th were secured by Leinster competitors.

  In the first race of the season you always expect a few surprises, riders sizing each other up – who has done a good winter, who is flying, and who is struggling with those early season cobwebs..  The first race in the Women’s National League, hosted by Cycling Pursuits, and won by St. Finbarr’s Fiona Meade,  offered a bit more excitement than expected!
