Saturday 14th August – women’s team sprint champs – teams of minimum two riders from same club… it will be great to have a team event on the National Championships Programme – this is still a demonstration event, and will be demo until the number of competitors increase, so we urge you to please support the event, and encourage your teammates and friends to support it to. Best of luck to Jennifer O’Reilly who is racing in the European Cup in Barcelona this weekend. Jenn will be racing in all the sprint events, sprint, 500m, scratch, points and Keirin.

Last weekend several Irish women travelled to the Meadowbank GP in Edinburgh. The Junior Development team held their own in tough competition, and Jennifer O’Reilly (Ravens) clocked some top results in the scratch and points race to make the podium. National Champion in the Sprint and Scratch events, Jennifer O’Reilly (Ravens) tested her strength in a bigger field in Edinburgh this weekend – and finished a fine 3rd place in the Omnium, after securing 1st in the points race, and 2nd in the scratch event. Competition continues tomorrow with the Devil and Keirin.
Last month the track commission announced a Junior Women’s Team who will represent the country on a development team and the track omnium in Meadowbanks in Edinburgh. (more…)
