The Gorey 3 Day Stage Race is held on Easter Weekend every year – but the places fill up really fast. The weekend involves roughly 100km per day for three days and a Time Trial of roughly 4km thrown in the mix. It is both a great race and challenge for women, along with being good preparation to kick off the 2012 race season. If anyone is interested in committing to entering the 2012 event contact queries@womenscycling.ie to put your name in the mix, so that we might be able to propose a staggered start for the female entrants.

Lucan’s Sandra Fitzgerald is having a stormer of a season. Following her recent victory in the National League TT Fitzgerald put her new foudn TT skills to use in the Ballinrobe 2 Day wearing the Irish Development Team colours. In stage one herself and team mate Cait Elliott put in a great performance to only concede 5 minutes to overall winner 2008 Olympian David O Loughlin. A strong TT put her clearly in front of the other women, and a strong final stage consolidated her lead, and giving the Lucan girl a credible 34th overall. Well done to all the girls entered. TT results and Final Stage and Final GC
