The 2009 Cycling Weekend for women was held last weekend in Avon Rí Leisure Complex, in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. Combining solid training sessions with training presentations and a talk from guest speaker, Jamie Costin (multiple Olympian), the training camp served as a gathering for cyclists from around the country who wished to improve their skills on the bike. In October 2009 you will have an opportunity to take part in a fundraising cycle of 700km in Australia, while raising money for “Fighting Blindness”, which will help provide financial assistance for the paralympic cyclists in London 2012. Check out our leisure section HERE .

Just spotted this on irishcycling.com here - I wonder if the model has a Cycling Ireland license? Maybe the PR folk in Kellogg’s aren’t aware of the women’s cycling scene in Ireland… they may not have had to fork out huge money to get someone to pose as a cyclist?

The Tour of Flanders is a major professional cycling event that takes place in Belgium. This year Dr. Maria Hinfelaar, Director if Limerick IT, took part in the touring version of the event the day before, read her report below. Sounds like something to pen into the diary next year!!
