Sign on for the Boot Inn League is at 6.30pm, and the racing starts at 7pm sharp. The usual race distance for the Boot Inn is 20 miles, which is 4 laps of a flattish 5 mile circuit.
A group of cyclists leave from the GPO on Wednesday evening at 5.45pm.
The Boot Inn League consists of 6 rounds. The results of each rider’s top 5 races count towards the overall total at the end of the league. This means each rider can afford to miss one race in the league.
Points are awarded as follows: 1st=11 points; 2nd = 10 points; 3rd = 9 points; 4th = 8 points; 5th = 7 points; 6th = 6 points; 7th – last (including marshal) = 5 points.
Directions:
FROM THE M50
Take the exit for the airport. Turn right at the Main Airport Roundabout in the direction of Swords. Turn left at the roundabout (just past the coachman’s inn). Follow the road until you come to another small roundabout, taking the first exit. Turn left after about 100 yards. The Boot Inn is about half a mile down this road, on the left hand side.

Just wanting to get more details on the boot inn league and the wicklow races -ie what distances are they both, what time do the boot inn league meet on the wednesdays and does it matter if youre slow or low in bike confidence?! Thanks
The distance of both races can vary a bit – depending on whether it is run as a group race, or as a time trial. The usual, and maximum, distance is 20 miles.
On a Wed sign on for the Boot Inn is 6.30pm, and the race kicks off at 7pm sharp. These leagues are a perfect starting point for anyone who is new to cycling, or lacking a bit in confidence. You might even want to come out for a race, and just do one or two laps – and watch the rest.. and still hopefully learn something. By doing these races you will gradually get a bit more confident, and also get a bit faster.
Will there be a Boot Inn leage this year??
