Boot Inn League 2008

Boot Inn League 2008

Unfortunately we will not be able to hold the Boot Inn League this year – there will be a women’s league in South Dublin, run by Swords, and of course the Wicklow league. If anyone is interested in running a similar women’s league please contact us – as this is a super introduction to racing, and great fun. Contact us on queries@womenscycling.ie and we will provide you with any of the details you need.
Previous info on Boot Inn Leagues:
This is a league suitable for female riders of all abilities. It takes place at the back of Dublin Airport, at the Boot Inn, on a Wednesday evening fortnightly during the summer. It is an ideal starting point for any women who want to try out road racing.

Sign on for the Boot Inn League is at 6.30pm, and the racing starts at 7pm sharp. The usual race distance for the Boot Inn is 20 miles, which is 4 laps of a flattish 5 mile circuit.

A group of cyclists leave from the GPO on Wednesday evening at 5.45pm.

The Boot Inn League consists of 6 rounds. The results of each rider’s top 5 races count towards the overall total at the end of the league. This means each rider can afford to miss one race in the league.

Points are awarded as follows: 1st=11 points; 2nd = 10 points; 3rd = 9 points; 4th = 8 points; 5th = 7 points; 6th = 6 points; 7th – last (including marshal) = 5 points.

Directions:

FROM THE M50

Take the exit for the airport. Turn right at the Main Airport Roundabout in the direction of Swords. Turn left at the roundabout (just past the coachman’s inn). Follow the road until you come to another small roundabout, taking the first exit. Turn left after about 100 yards. The Boot Inn is about half a mile down this road, on the left hand side.
