Round 7 of the Women’s National League was a TT hosted by Sorrento CC. The added incentive of €150 on offer to anyone who could break the existing league record of 24min enticed many riders. League Leader, Sandra Fitzgerald from Lucan, knocked a second off the long standing record set by Jenny Fay in 2005, to win the round in a time of 23.59. This was 2 seconds faster than Melanie Spath, with Orla Hendron in third spot. (more…)

This year the track commission will be holding a demonstration championship event for women with the introduction of the Omnium. The actual event takes place on the weekend of the 30th-31st July, with a training day on the 24th July. (more…)

National Road Race Champion Siobhan Horgan raced a strong race in Brittany last weekend, finishing in 19th place overall in the UCI 2.2 event, just 3min 43 behind the winner. Former multiple national champion and top international rider Geraldine Gill also raced in the 4 day stage race.

Tuesday August 9th and Tuesday August 23rd

Sign on from 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start.  There will be a coached practice spin at 6.45pm especially for those who have never raced beforeThis event will be a 30k handicapped race (3 laps of a 10k circuit) to give all participants a fair chance. The circuit is relatively flat with only 1 sprint hill. If anyone who has never raced before wants to give a lap a go, they are more than welcome. (more…)
