The Wicklow Womens League takes place each tuesday in June, 4 tuesdays in all, beginning with a 2.65mile hill time trial up Killiskey hill next tue, 7th June. The following 3 weeks will be a handicapped race on the usual 2.9mile circuit, just outside Ashford village, exit 13 off the N11 (just after it becomes motorway again, if travelling south).

Entry is €5 for junior and senior ladies, with youth going free. Prizes awarded to first 3 each night and there will be end of league trophies for first 6 overall. All entrants must have a Cycling Ireland licence to compete (there will be an option to buy one-day licences for each race at an extra cost of €20 each time).

Sign on is from 6.50pm each evening at the start line, with races starting 7.30 sharp. As ever marshalls and helpers are always welcomely received so if any partners or friends are free on tuesdays in June, try and entice them to come along and we will try and reward them with tea and buns afterwards – and as always any contributions to the baking is also welcome as it is not one of my strong points!

Looking forward to seeing you all next tuesday, maps of the race circuit are below.

Time Trial – see below – start is in a slightly different spot, just where we left up the hill on the regular circuit, and instead of going left around the circuit we will go right and up the hill.
