Cuchulainn hosted the first round of the Women’s National League in Dundalk this weekend. A good turn out ensured exciting racing, with Usher’s Gillian McDarby taking the bunch sprint from Bohermeen’s Geraldine Gill. Roisin Kennedy of Lucan took third place, with Mandy Collie (Team Basso Today’s Cyclist), Sandra Fitzgerald (Stagg’s Lucan) and Orla Hendron (DTC Orwell Wheelers) completing the top six. Check out our latest link, to a blog by Jenny Fay, one of Ireland’s top road racers. Fay is now based in Australia, and has switched her focus to off-road which is proving equally successful. The marathon season is just kicking off, and Fay is starting in good form, having just finished with a fine 4th place in the XC in the Australian National Championships, and 2nd in the short course National Championships.
