Caroline Ryan knocked a further second off her time in the bronze ride off, but unfortunately it was not enough to secure the bronze medal. Her time of 3.39 is once again a new national records. Caroline Ryan scored the fourth fastest individual pursuit time at the world cup in Cali, putting her in the bronze ride off later on today. Her time of 3min 40.6seconds is a new Irish record. Check out the heat results here: HERE

The Irish women knocked 6 seconds off their record in the team pursuit in Cali yesterday, in a time of 3min31.7 seconds. This time gave them 10th position overall, and 5th out of the European Nations. The top 6 European Nations, after 12 rounds of qualifiers (including this world cup) will qualify for the Olympic Games in London. (more…)

On the back of a good block of training in Aigle, the Cycling Ireland elite team will travel to Cali, Colombia for the World Cup. The women’s team of Caroline Ryan, Ciara Horne and Jennifer O Reilly will be looking to gain points to qualify for the 2012 Olympics in the Team Pursuit and the Omnium, while the men’s team of Martyn Irvine and Felix English are focusing on the omnium.
