Team Madigan are organising a womens race to follow the mens race in Kilroot (Carrickfergus) on Saturday 1st August. Everyone welcome. Chain Reaction are sponsoring some of the prizes
Carlow cc hosted round 6 of the Zoo Hair Salon and Louis Garneau Women’s National League last Sunday, on a “relatively flat” circuit. The race was boosted both in numbers and excitement with the presence of two Dutch Women’s Teams. The race was won by Ilona Weiring (Batavan), with Michelle Geoghegan taking 2nd place. Wendy Bates (Lakeside Wheelers) claimed 3rd spot. (more…)
Siobhan Dervan, true to form, picked up speed as the Giro Donne progressed, placing in the top third of the field on the last 3 stages – pitching her 65th in GC against the best in the world. This weekend is a big one for the women with two Dutch teams travelling over to compete. On Saturday everyone will take to the track for the International Track Day, and on Sunday the women will compete in Carlow at the penultimate round of the Zoo Hair Salon and Louis Garneau National League. Strong winds and an extra lap made the 6th and final round a fittingly tough race to decide the final positions of the league.
