Bajolek takes another win at sunny Slade XC NPS

Slade Valley, rider favorite for cross country racing, didn’t disappoint this weekend. Hosting club IMBRC put together a fun and varied 5.6 km track, with sunshine and dusty trails.

Klaudia Bajolek continued her winning streak taking first place in the Senior 1 category.

Thrilled to take my second win at the second NPS today 🏆. Hopefully this good streak continues for the rest of the year! Some tough races coming up soon so let’s hope I can keep up 😜

Senior 1 podium. 1st Klaudia Bajolek, 2nd Tarja Owens, 3rd Niamh McKiverigan

Leah McCarthy, also maintaining her winning ways in Senior 2, tells us how she got on:

Absolute belter of a day held by IMBRC. Headed for my practice lap and was glad it had rained the day before, the forest sections rode better and who doesn’t love some challenging slippery roots. It was a 2pm start for the S2’s, nice big bunch of us out together. Whistle blew and we were off, quick fire road climb straight into rooty forests for some fun. Straight up a spicy kicker of climb, into single track which eventually lead to a savage little open downhill track with some cool jumps (loads of fun).

It was then single track heaven into the forests, loads of tight turns, kicker climbs and roots, so many roots!! It was such a fun day, so much support and encouragement from everybody. The IMBRC club are a serious pack of gents and ladies who know how to make you feel at home. Thank you so much for such a great day.

Well done to all the ladies who competed across all the categories. Shout out to my girl Ciara Nolan on her 3rd place in S3. Well done to Wannita Broome on her 2nd place (Dromara Cycling Club) and Amanda Draper, 3rd (MBCC). Big love as always to Giant Dublin for keeping my bike dialed in this season #RideForRyan

Senior 2 podium; 1st Leah McCarthy, 2nd Wannita Broome, 3rd Amanda Draper

The Senior 3 introductory category had three riders taking on a shorter course with Michelle Dunne taking the win, with Caroline Martinez close behind, and Ciara Nolan taking third.
